
Edward Taddei

Edward P. Taddei of Lower Gwynedd, formerly of Maple Glen, a teacher and administrator in the Upper Dublin School District for almost 40 years, died March 3, 2007 at Abington Memorial Hospital after a prolonged illness. He was 76.
Mr. Taddei was a math teacher at Upper Dublin from 1954-64, chairman of the math department from 1957-64 and assistant principal at Upper Dublin Junior High School from 1964-67. He also served as the Upper Dublin varsity basketball coach. In 1967, he was named Suburban One Coach of the Year.
In 1968, Mr. Taddei became principal of Upper Dublin Junior High and later Three Tuns Junior High School. In 1976, he moved into district administration, serving as director of middle schools (1976-78), personnel director (1978-89), and assistant superintendent (1989-93) before retiring in 1993. Upon retirement, Mr. Taddei became and adjunct professor of math at Montgomery County Community College for almost 10 years.
Mr. Taddei served on the Northwestern Corporation Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program Board of Directors from 1989-95. In addition, he was, a high school basketball official for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association from 1948-78.
The son of the late Vincent J. and Josephine (Ronciglione) Taddei, he grew up in Jenkintown and graduated from Temple University in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, earning a master’s in education at Temple in 1957.
Mr. Taddei served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1952-54.
