Michael Hopewell Gurysh of Lower Gwynedd and formerly a long time resident of Warminster, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 with his loving family by his side at Springhouse Estates. He was 75. Michael was the beloved husband of 51 years to Rosemary (Uhar) Gurysh. Born in Northumberland, PA he was a son of the late Michael J. and Frances (Hopewell) Gurysh. Michael attended Penn State University where he was awarded both his Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science degrees in education. He went on to lead a 37 year career with Upper Dublin School District as a math teacher and math curriculum coordinator. In addition to his role as an educator, Michael was a devoted Penn State Football and Philadelphia Phillies fan. He was also passionate about spending time outdoors, especially fishing, birdwatching, and hiking at his cabin in Maine. He was a talented woodworker and loved time spent in his woodshop building furniture. Above all else, Michael’s family was the most important thing to him and spending time with them was always his most important priority. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his children, Stephanie Krohto and her husband, Kurt, of Lincoln, RI and Michael A. Gurysh and his wife, Cara, of Perkasie, PA. He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren, Ryan and Colin Krohto and Adam, Becca, and Hayley Gurysh; and his brothers, J. Kenneth Gurysh and his wife, Janey, of The Villages, FL and David Gurysh and his wife, Patricia, of Clemmons, NC. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 2:00 -5:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901 and again on Monday January 4, 2016 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service 11:00 AM at Doylestown United Methodist Church, 321 E. Swamp Road, Doylestown, PA 18901. His interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a scholarship fund which will be set up in his name. www.fluehr.com
