Robert Frain
1954-08-09 1993-01-11Bob Frain was my date for the senior prom and I can still see him limping down our driveway after a night of dancing and very late night breakfast. With fondest memories.
tribute by Pam Pfeifer BanksI was lucky enough to grow up in a wonderful neighborhood with so many great people including Bob Frain. Whenever we played a game of pick up or if it was organized ball, I always wanted Bob on my team. He may have lacked the particular skill set for the sport, however he made up for it in effort. Always one hundred percent. That's how Bob lived his life. You always knew where you stood with Bob, there was no grey area, just black and white. Little knew that he served his country and was one of the last twelve marines to exit Saigon from the rooftop that fateful day on April 30th, 1975. Many of us have had friends and family leave this good earth far too early.
tribute by Scott ForrestBob sat next to me in homeroom.I often wondered what became of Bob. I never understood why anyone would join the Marines in the middle of a war. Now as a father of a marine who joined while still in high school (like Bob) I get it. 10 years and 5 deployments later my son is still serving his country, ready to go where duty calls. Semper Fi to all that serve and served.
